Impurity-induced microstructure of grain boundaries in cast silicon. Incidence on electrical properties

چکیده
2014 The role of impurities in polysilicon for photocell has been investigated. Aluminium and carbon residual impurities in the Bridgman and HEM materials were particularly considered. The combination of local electrical, chemical and structural information with high spatial resolution, specifically in transmission electron microscopy, allowed to correlate the crystallography and chemistry with the electrical activity and barriers at grain boundaries. For aluminium it was shown that GB electrical property depends on the localization and environment of this dopant. The different ways for carbon to impair electrical properties are described. The correlation with other impurities and specially oxygen are considered and finally the predominant role of impurities is pointed out. Revue Phys. Appl. 22 (1987) 623-629 JUILLET 1981

THE EFFECT OF SEVERE PLASTIC DEFORMATION ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF AS-CAST AZ31
The evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties of a magnesium cast alloy (AZ31) processed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) at two different temperatures were investigated. The as-cast alloy with an average grain size of 360 was significantly refined to about 5 after four ECAP passes at 543 K. Grain refinement was achieved through dynamic recrystallization (DRX) du...

The ASTM F-75 (Co-28%Cr-6%Mo) is widely used as a biocompatible alloy in medicinefor manufacturing implants. In this study, effect of mold preheating on the as-cast microstructure of thealloy was investigated using the solid investment casting process. Several mold preheating temperaturesof 550, 700, 850 and 1000 °C were selected at the same melt superheat. The samples were characterizedby opti...

Effects of different amounts of lead (Pb) and tin (Sn) on microstructure and tensile properties of the AZ91 alloy were studied. The results presented that the microstructure of AZ91 alloy is consisted the α-Mg phase and semi-continuous network of β-Mg17Al12 intermetallics. For the as-cast AZ91 alloy, the average grain siz and the β phase volume fraction were 96.2 µm and of 25.3%, respectively. ...
